Please read the complete guidelines carefully before you start to submit.

Submissions to the IAGG-ER 2019 can be made as:

SYMPOSIUM

– Deadline 15 October 2018
A convener/chair can organize a symposium that typically comprises 3-5 individual presentations joined by a common theme.
Note that submissions for symposia includes 2 steps; first submitting an abstract outlining the symposium, then submitting abstracts for each intended presentation (i.e., individual abstracts).

ORAL PRESENTATION

– Deadline: 3 December 2018
Abstracts submitted for oral presentation (of approximately 10-15 min, depending on the number of presenters in the session). The presentation will be joined into a common theme for other abstracts and chaired by one of the presenters. Abstract which cannot be thematically organized into an oral session will instead be considered for a poster presentation.

ORAL POSTER

– Deadline: 3 December 2018
Abstracts submitted for oral-poster presentation includes posters in conjunction with a brief oral presentation. The posters will be on display for a full day, and the author is given the opportunity to highlight the poster (max 5 minutes) in an oral-poster session, using max 2 slides. Abstract which cannot be thematically organized into an oral-poster session, will instead be considered for a poster (only) presentation.

How to submit

SYMPOSIUM (OVERALL ABSTRACT), Deadline: 15 October 2018

A symposia proposal should outline the theme of the symposium and how each contribution is integrated into the overall theme. A symposium typically comprises 3-5 individual presentations related to an overall theme. The specific format of the presentations is decided by the convener who is responsible for coordination and communication with proposed symposia participants. If preferred he/she can also include a discussant.

A symposia proposal needs to be submitted in two separate steps. Note that both these steps must be completed before the deadline: 15 October 2018.

First step; A symposium proposal outlining the theme of the symposium and how each contribution is integrated into the overall theme must be submitted by the convener/chair via the Symposia submission form through your account. Create your account/profile.

Symposia title can be maximum 50 words, symposia outline text max 2100 characters, including spaces and excluding title and contact information of authors.
We recommend that subheadings are avoided in symposia text.
All persons that will be presenting at and take part in the symposia must be named as co-authors in the overall symposia submission/proposal. The names should however not appear in the symposia text. Co-authors names will be entered in a later step of the submission. Also, titles of the individual abstracts in the symposia should not be included in the symposia text or overall abstract.

After submitting the Symposia proposal, the convener of the symposium receives a unique code. This must then be distributed to other presenters/co-authors proposed for the symposia.

Next step; All parts of the symposia (i.e., the individual abstracts of a symposium) must then be submitted using the General abstract submission form through the presenters’ account/profile page as “Abstract as part of the symposium” and stating the unique code assigned to the specific symposia proposal. This code is used to link each contribution/abstract to the specific symposia. Ideally, Individual symposia abstracts can be submitted by the presenter of that abstract. For details on how to submit individual abstracts, see below.

Access after submission: The symposia convener/chair (i.e., the submitter of the proposal) will have access to the symposia proposal during and after submission through his/her account page. The corresponding author of each individual specific symposia abstract will have access to their own abstract after submission through their account page.

Notification on acceptance of the Symposia and included abstracts will be sent to the convener’s e-mail on 15 November 2018. The convener must then notify all other symposia participants.

Submit via the General abstract submission form by creating a profile/account page. Create your Account/profile.

After entering authors contact details you will be asked to indicate if your abstracts is:
“Abstract as part of symposium” and if so state the unique symposium code.
or
“All other abstracts” and if so then indicate the preferred type of presentation (i.e., oral, oral-poster, or poster).
The submitted abstract might, however, be accepted into another presentation format (oral, oral-poster, or poster).

The abstract title can be maximum 50 words, abstract text max 2100 characters, incl spaces and excluding title and contact information of authors.

The abstract should clarify the objectives of the study, theories and methods used, results obtained, and conclusions to be drawn. If subheadings are used in your abstract text, please format the headings in bold followed by a colon (e.g. Objectives:)

Access after submission: The corresponding author will have access to the abstract during and after submission via an online Account/Profile Page. For more info on access to Profile page see further below.

Notification of acceptance:
For Symposia: Notifications will not be sent to individual abstracts, only the convener will receive notification on acceptance. For Oral, Oral-Poster, and Poster abstracts: Notification on acceptance of the abstracts will be sent to the stated e-mail address no later than 22 January 2019. The corresponding author will receive feedback concerning the abstract and is responsible for informing co-authors.

General information

All submissions are, independent of format, subjected to a peer-review process to secure high quality.

All submissions must be made electronically via the submission system on the congress home page.

All submissions must be written in English.
Please note that the word “elderly” should be avoided (as stated in APA guidelines concerning Bias-free language).

It is your responsibility to submit a correct text. Any errors in spelling, grammar, or scientific fact will be reproduced as submitted. Please spell-check all texts before entering them into the submission system.

All accepted abstracts will be published in the Final program/Abstract book, on condition that the presenting authors have registered and paid the registration fee no later than 11 March 2019.

Notification with session information (date, time) of the symposia and/or abstract will be sent no later than 30 April 2019.

Account / Profile Page
To submit your symposia, abstract part of a symposia or a stand alone abstract you need to create a Profile account first. When you start to submit your abstract you can follow the progress on-line by entering your Profile Page and complete an already started submission and make changes until the submission deadline.

Your Account/Profile Page for abstracts makes it possible for you to edit, read and print your abstract as well as make changes until submission deadline (15 October 2018 for Symposia and symposia abstracts, and 3 December 2018 for oral, oral-poster and poster abstracts)
